An indictment of the lack of care in our society. People are cast as heroes by the establishment but then ignored when they are in their hour of need.

Although unless they ask for help how is anyone supposed to know ?

Part of the nature of depression is denial, its hard enough to get a victim to go to their own GP for advice let alone ring up their employer (or former employer?) and ask if there is any free counselling they can have.

That is so desperate I am lost for words. You know nothing about either the circumstances or what support he had, yet gratuitously indict his care provision and imply that his death is in consequence of lack of proper support. Breathtakingly crass. Well done.

I agree. PC Rathband may have had all the support possible and, I suspect, a huge amount of counselling therapy to try and help him cope.
Sometimes it's not enough. Even those who walk around with a smile on their face all day long could be battling inner emotional demons.

Not one normally to support Dally but Rathband had being very critical of the Police and contemplated legal action against them about a lack of support and possibly taking them to an industrial tribunal
