I'd love to imagine the reaction nowadays if the British government agreed to spending billions of pounds of government money on a joint project with the French and would even take the French spelling of the name. The Mail and Express front pages would be a picture, the red-faced fury mongers would be blowing their permanently furious tops.
Fortunately in the 1960s when Concorde was developed the reactionary right wing press was not so nationalist or so powerful.

I guess you did not realise that the ready made deal agreed and signed by de Pfeffel was a clean break from the EU. The trade deals we have were negotiated by the de Pfeffel party therefore if you are not content I would hold them responsible.
I will let others point out how much trade we did with the EU and how much we can do with a diminishing commonwealth.'"
Where do we think the biggest long term growth export opportunities are - the EU or the diminishing Commonwealth which has one country with a bigger population than the whole of the EU put together.
What I think should have happened were the challenges around the GFA should have been spelled out i.e. there would need to be a border between the north and the south. If leave still won everybody knew what they voting for. You can't have bigger picture destroyed by some religious nutters

Let's see. The one right next door.
Or the one far away.
Which one will be the one where we will find the most bountiful export markets?

I’m not sure that is a full or fair reflection of the political, cultural and social status of Northern Ireland (or the North of Ireland as some would have it). It’s much more about nationalism (and good old sovereignty) than it is religion. Although I admit that they’re closely intertwined historically.
It’s hard to say that the partition of Ireland has been a success. Sorry Unionist community… it’s okay to support something that isn’t successful - I’m a Hull KR fan after all!
Bigger picture, Brexit is done and Big Dog is (nearly) gone… this should be put to bed. If Truss tries to use it to whip people up, I think it’ll fall flat with the looming cost of living crisis and everything being a bit poop. On the other hand, I’m not sure what else she’s got. Might have a look…

It depends if you reached maturity in one market it is time to look elsewhere?

Sunak would be a better candidate but he has no chance now - so we are stuck with a big dog defender. Time will tell but I am not holding my breath. The only saving grace is the equal lack of quality in the labour party and the increasing power grabbing attitude of the unions.

The government are rubbish and so are the opposition. As saving graces go, it isn’t the most reassuring or inspirational.

Well, something silly we just did just caused exports to European countries to collapse. So there is huge growth potential there now! Isn't that great!?

Well that's just a blatant lie.
Exports to the EU are the highest since records began.
Hardly a collapse

Your link doesn't work, it's behind a pay wall.
However the discussion was about exports to the EU, or have you been moving those goalposts again.
April then May and again in June saw the highest exports to the EU since records began.
So while you keep fibbing to suit your agenda I'll keep pulling you on it.
