Where does the tax payers money originate? The government doesn't generate money it only has two ways of generating income: Taxing the free market or borrowing from it via government bonds. Quantitive easing isn't really monetary generation.
So I ask again where does the money come from?

It's a concept. Money isn't real. There is a much or a little as governments etc want there to be.
My offer still stands regarding "money"

How much money has the government received from the banks since 2008, compared to how they threw at the banks to bail them out?
The way governments usually get out of debt is through inflation. Something that is hardly likely to ever happen, all the time the incumbent incompetents insist on continuing their ideologically-driven austerity programme.
If the money that was printed for the benefits of the banks and the already rich, instead been directed into capital projects, such as council house-building, or other infrastructure improvements, many more people would be better off today

| I'll give Corbyn his due - He's got the art of opposition politics down to a tee.... Promise some beautiful fantasy utopia, funded by cash from that money tree that the Greens had access to during the election campaign, and, Bob's your Uncle, he is being hailed by some as some sort of second coming (he even has the fortune of sharing the same initials as the first coming!).
I just hope for his sake that too many people don't fall for his ramblings, as he (and the WHOLE country) will be well in the mire if he has to live out his dreams.
Just as an aside, all these young radicals pinning their hopes on JC can't have had much of an education, because surely they should have read 'Animal Farm' and got themselves some sort of idea what will happen in Corbyn's socialist utopia?

We already have a "magic money tree", it's called the Bank of England and it's been busy printing money almost since its inception and working overtime since 2008. The problem is, this extra money is being hoarded and offshored by the rich. The country would be better off if they'd simply dropped £50 notes from a helicopter

Good job, it will be in overdrive with Jeremy at the wheel, because he is seriously dreaming if he thinks the so called 'rich' will hang about to have their pockets pinched by the leftys....
There would be only three certainties with Corbyn's plans in place and that is out of control inflation, sky-high unemployment and general strikes to match what happened in the 70's.

This theory would only be found to be true if indeed there were no "rich" left in the country by, say, 1977, after at least a couple of decades of high rates of income tax for high earners.
Truth was that there was a wave of moaning and wailing from the "rich" and threats of "I'll go abroad" but when push came to shove and the wife asked "Where will we be emigrating to then dear", the bravado faded with the realisation that emigrating to a country with low or no tax would probably destroy their social and family lives.
Moral of the story is to tell anyone who repeats the moan "I'll go abroad if they tax me at 50%" to go ahead, sell the house and take the family somewhere cheaper, go on, do it now...they won't.

I was thinking more of all those companies that trade and provide jobs in this country - Its a global market now, nothing like back in the 70's - Will those international companies hand over extra taxes without any consequences??
Of course not... there will be huge job losses, even companies upping sticks and finding more corporate friendly countries to carry out their business in.
Of course, Jeremy's massively inflated state will soak up the unemployed and with the Unions in his ear telling him what over-inflated rates of pay to give the lucky ones who get 'work', inflation will soon be on a not-so-steady rise.
Throw in the inevitable industrial action when Jeremy tries to tell the Unions that we are broke and, hey presto, you are right, we are back in the 70's, only not the 70's you remember concerning the filthy rich, but the 70's which was generally e for all concerned.

How right you are. But JC wouldn't mind as he would be turning wine into water at the cozy garden parties with his friends from Hamas and Hezbollah.

Well in my case it wasn't the rich that took action but I went abroad in 1977 having got tired of the pay freeze and rising mortgage interest rates. I managed to quadruple my income (tax free) and returned after the winter of discontent so its not a just theory as I met plenty of others who did the same. This was before we started a family so it was an easy decision.
