Who was conned into voting leave? Polls suggest should we run the referendum again the result would be similar

Are these "ordinary" people of which you speak so stupid as to be conned by politicians? I think not. Typical leftist, nannying from the delusional who think they know best and that "ordinary" people are too stupid to understand even the simplest of things. A shameful remark.

What about those who saw the "Brexit Bus" stating we send the E.U. £350M per week, "let's fund the N.H.S".
I received my annual tax summary today, on the back is a crude pie chart showing where the cash goes. Guess what the smallest piece of the pie was?

| I find it hilarious when people talk about leave voters being conned or lied to by politicians, like the EU referendum was the first time a politician has actually lied and it's a new concept that is yet to be fully understood by leave voters.
The old adage 'how do you tell when a politician is lying? Their lips move' is one of the first things you learn about politics. Everybody knows that.

Are we out of the EU yet?
I live in Surrey and in May will get a vote on raising my council tax by £200+ year onto of the £2010 I pay already to contribute to social care. Im hoping they do get the £350m a week.

Another one displaying a laughable lack of understanding of the reasons many people voted to leave. It was nothing to do with an oft-misquoted NHS Bus or politicians, it was more to do with people seeing their jobs disappear, their non-conforming views derided and condemned by a increasingly intolerant and aggressive left, and their communities changed out of all recognition in a very short space of time via mass immigration, which has resulted in huge pressure on the low-end job market and our public services.
Quote bren2kto learn that part of taking back control means that many of the rights and protections they enjoyed as employees will be removed, to the benefit of their employer.'"
They will? Most of those rights are already enshrined in British law, indeed the UK has always been a pioneer in employment rights - way ahead of the EU in many cases. Furthermore, the Great Repeal Bill will convert all laws currently enforced by the EU into British law at the moment of leaving the EU. Hardly the sign of a government desperate to viciously dispose of employment laws, is it? For one thing, why on earth would they? Sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about.

| Surely by now the vast majority of reasonable employer laws are in place and unlikely to be changed , so no need for them to be even brought to the table with regards Brexit

Precisely.
But it's an easy scaremonger tactic.

| I voted remain and I was disappointed when the nation voted to leave. However, I try to view things with an open mind so for me I'll wait and see what comes of it all.
My only bug bear with regards to a lot of brexiters is when they say, this isn't what we voted for in the 70s so that's why i voted leave. Personally I think that is a very selfish view point. I voted remain not for my own personal gain (there are some things the EU do which really annoys me) but because I believe that it was a vote for my children and their children and I would like them to grow up in a society where no matter who you are or where you come from, you are accepted and not treated differently. For me, the EU was on the way to being that society.

Same here LLHKR , Brexit won't really affect me , the work I do will continue either way , but I do want my kids and theirs to grow up British , with what I see as British values , I also want them to be able to buy a house , see a doctor , not be scared to walk the street , I'd rather myself and them suffer financially to achieve those aims if necessary IMO
As for the EU itself well it has grown too big , too fast and has too much power both to its leaders and it's member states , it is quite ridiculous that a region of a small country has been vetoing a trade deal with Canada , quite possibly to the detriment of the rest of its members
Time for change IMO
