www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politic ... onomy.html

Let's see ...

Prior to the election, (similar to Labour) he took the view that the Tories would be cutting too far, too soon.
After the election and having been offered the deputy PM job and after a little 20 minute chat with Mervyn King (who hadn't seen anything coming in the banking area), he had a Damascene conversion to the Tory view.

Now he's having second (or should that be third?) thoughts.

If only he had looked at The Sin Bin occasionally, he'd have realised that cutting too harshly would dent GDP badly.

Its fairly obvious to everyone now that most of the people currently in politics and/or banking/investment/finance have university degrees in politics/banking/investment/finance and have assmued some years ago that the text books and theories that they read at their universities were all that was required to run the world.

It fairly obvious to anyone by now who has any form of savings that doesn't just pay out a fixed percentage in interest (ie an old fashioned savings account) that the whole "investment" industry is based on sleight of hand, smoke and mirrors, and hidden weights and springs - and complete guesswork of course.

The shame of it is (and its their shame not ours) is that politicians look us straight in the eyes every four or five years and promise us that they have a fix to everything, that they know what they are doing and that its none of their fault when it all goes wrong - and we are all dumb enough to believe them.

So GDP is down and we are going to have a triple dip.
Can anyone the but idiot's in charge or those that have swallowed all their spin be in the slightest bit suprised?

Cutting the manure out of a struggling economy will result in 1 thing and it isn't a reduction in deficit. d040.gif

Oh and before the Tory boys start some of us (And Labour) said this would happen right from the start.

So you're confident that Q1 2013 will show positive growth figures are you? If it doesn't, then we are officially in a triple dip.

As it stands, we're more than likely in one but waiting for it to be confirmed.

As this article says, the figures are meaningless. The economy is not in great shape though.

It all depends on the numbers used.
Using the current budget instead for the figures it actually comes out at around 9%
fullfact.org/factchecks/budget_d ... rter-28563
With regard to the triple dip even a blind man can see where we are headed.
So if you want top keep burying your head and being delusional go for it you Tory idiot.

Im confident the same old stagers will blame everyone but Labour for the circumstances in which we live, and they'll want peole with some money to support the work shy and feckless.

And I'm confident the the same old clueless out of touch posters (This is where you come in) will fail to see what is smacking them in the face.

The crux of the matter was in the article Dally linked to
"It is clear that the UK is performing poorly, with real wages falling, retail sales stagnating and the budget deficit increasing again."

It is? How when we are borrowing more than ever?

I'd wait for the first period of 2013 to be so sure we are not in a triple dip.

And yet again, you'll be able to show that there are decent jobs for everyone who is unemployed. The unemployment are a myth – and have been for 20-30 years.

I was once unemployed and it was a dismal period of my life ... I felt useless, impotent, frustrated, unwanted, stupid, cast aside and outdated ... until I got back into work.

But, whilst I was unemployed, the likes of you would have added "workshy and feckless" to my list of attributes.

Well done for understanding.

I've been unemployed too – and it's soul-destroying.

I've also worked for pennies in a tea shop. And for £60 a week, managing a shop, taking orders, dealing with customers, looking after the float at my own home, locking and opening up etc. I lost my home as a result.

I left the place that I lived in, where I had all my friends, and moved south to start all over again. I've slogged around streets selling things to people in their offices, sometimes barely taking enough home to cover my transport into London from where I was living in Reading with my parents – itself far from a pleasurable experience in my mid twenties.

I've actually been accepted for a job – and then find someone higher up has withdrawn the offer. I've lost a job on the basis of not being good at something that I was not interviewed and employed to be good at.

I've sat at home and tried to write and sell stuff, when I couldn't be out actually trying to get work, more than once to be told that I was 'over-qualified'.

People who fall for the idea that the unemployed are, per se, workshy, are, at the very best, incredibly naive.

George Osborne couldn't run a tap properly and this doofus is the Chancellor ? He's a joke like the rest of them in the Coalition.
