The spike in cases in Leeds was in areas mostly occupied by students e.g. central, Hyde Park it is no surprise two weeks later the rate is falling and hospital admissions have remained stable. Leeds centre was already very quiet so tier 2 has had very limited impact on reducing the virus as there has been tiny changes in behaviour

My wife got a message on her phone via the app saying she had to isolate for 10 days. Why it was not 14 was explained by 111 as due to the fact that the person she was likely exposed to had a delay in their test result.


Tried to backtrack on where she had been in the relevant time period and who she may have been exposed to.

Could think of nothing.

Had no symptoms neither did I.

She requested a test and was told it was irrelevant as she would still have to isolate.

Anyway she isolates for 10 days. And got a message yesterday saying that isolation period was ending and that the good news was that “your Covid test result had come back negative”

Which was good news EXCEPT. She has not been for a Covid test.

The whole thing sounds like it was a ing error.


No money coming in for two weeks based on something that may never have been the case in the first place.

Did you look into the isolation payment available?

Not on a low enough income to qualify I don’t think
