| Quote A unknown superstar="A unknown superstar"Has anyone got a list of the exclusives for both consoles that have been announced? I know a few such as, Halo and gears. MGS, Final Fantasy.
Watch dogs, is that going to be for both?'"
I don't have a list but MGS is confirmed for both consoles, as is Final Fantasy. Watch Dogs is confirmed for PC, PS3, PS4, 360, Xbox One and WiiU.

| Ahh okay thanks, I'm not favouring either at the minute, I don't think either look nice and really don't like the look of the PS4's controller.

| Rubbish Microsoft. Too expensive for the product. Connection to the internet every 24 hours or you cant play a game? Cant take your game to a mates house ? I think the reaction on the internet says it all really. PS4 won.

| I saw a guy on gametrailers today talking about how he expects internet/cable tv companies to end up subsidising the cost of the console as part of an initiative to attract new customers into long term contracts, which is what Saddened has mentioned before now to a certain extent.
It seems like a pretty obvious thing to do imo, certainly for the XBone due to the required internet connection. It lends itself perfectly to internet providers looking to bring in new customers.
I think E3 probably came a little too soon for Microsoft in this regard, and maybe they didn't have the time to tie up any contracts with providers just yet. But I'd be very surprised if it never happens.
That still doesn't excuse the used game policy though, which I'm sure will put a lot of people off. In addition to this, not being able to modify the hdd of the console is another negative point. The hdd of the ps4 is confirmed to be removable and replaced with something bigger/better if you prefer.

Although apparently external hard drives will function exactly the same as an internal one.
I still wouldn't be a fan of that, though, IMO it's just another thing that hasn't been thought through well enough. I have a 2 year old, and if she sees a hard drive hanging off the console in the living room she'll want to investigate, and seeing as the XBone is supposed to be the hub of my entire existence it will have to be in the living room, and always on at least standby, if not already on because we all apparently want to watch TV through it.
The biggest problem with it is also the fact that they are making you install all of your games, it's a foolish combination. 'Right, we're giving you a finite amount of storage space built in, and you must clog it up with every game you buy or else you can't play them.' I think they'll have to change that idea.

www.geek.com/games/10-reasons-wh ... t-1558476/
Reading that, I've realised something else. The point about servers being turned off. I have a tendency to buy one football game per generation, as it's mainly for manager mode and to play with mates, not online. With the XBone will I now be forced to keep buying newer iterations, and at full price, because EA and the like switch their servers off a couple of years down the line?
And also, what about companies who go bust? We've seen quite a few go in recent years, when this happens will their games become unplayable?

The media coverage is ridiculous at the moment, and as biased as I am. "Xbox One online only", "Xbox One can't play games at your friends" "Xbox One ate my hamster". Connecting to the internet every 24 hours will affect virtually no one in the UK. Who, in this day and age, has no internet connection? If you can't afford broadband, you shouldn't be paying £400 for a games console. It's just a complete non-issue to 99.99% of people.
Can't take a game to a mates house? Yes you can, you can even give him the game when you are done with it and he can play it. The used game fee thing is another issue where the media is spamming MS with headline grabbing criticism when it'll be exactly the same on the Playstation. Do you really think developers are going to be okay with used games not earning them any revenue on PS when they will on Xbox? No, companies like EA will just charge the fee themselves.
Sony will be doing EVERYTHING Microsoft does eventually, bar possibly the 24 connection thing. We had this the last time over charging for Xbox Live. People said it would kill MS's chances and Sony would win because online should be free and virtually all the Sony fans on here were mocking it and saying it's ridiculous having to pay for it and they would never do it. Now Sony are doing exactly the same thing, it's suddenly okay. And it's nowhere in the media either, it's not being used as a headline grabbing stick to beat Sony with? Why?
Despite all the warped reporting, Xbox One pre-orders sold out in 4 hours at Amazon. I don't think MS or Sony will 'win' this round, brand loyalty is far too strong now.

Are you sure about that? Aren't they installed 'on the cloud'? It's no different to the PS3, you can just delete them when you are finished.

You would still be able to play the games offline, so manager mode and local multiplayer would work fine. It's just online multiplayer that would be switched off.

Without some sort of ping every 24 hours? Would that just be to Microsoft or to EA/whoever?

Well according to the podcasts I listen to, they thought you were having to install them onto the XBone itself.
