***Please can we avoid the usual mud-slinging?***
As John Piper rightly argues, the kangaroo court and subsequent murder of Jesus was the greatest act of evil to ever occur on this planet. What the BBC and their pink partners fail to grasp is that, to Christians, it is sheer blasphemy to compare this heinous crime to anything, not least the way gay people are treated in a liberal democracy.
I know most of you will not agree with me, but after Leveson, Saville and now this, is it finally time to bin the BBC? If not, can it be morally justified for Christian license-payers to refuse to pay up?'"
Thanks for starting with the mud slinging.
It illustrates – once more – how fundamentalists like you want to have their cake and eat it. You, Sir, are a hypocrite.
But let's make a couple of points, though.
1) If there hadn't been a "kangaroo court and subsequent murder of Jesus", then you wouldn't have met Jesus and he wouldn't have saved you. I know that it's trying that we have to put up with your idiocy and bigotry on a regular basis, but suggesting that that's a direct result of "the greatest act of evil to ever occur on this planet" is a tad harsh on yourself.
And since God created everything in the full and certain knowledge of what would happen, then he also created that "kangaroo court and subsequent murder of Jesus". Indeed, if Pilate had freed Jesus, it would have been against God's plan.
2) "to Christians, it is sheer blasphemy to compare this heinous crime to anything, not least the way gay people are treated in a liberal democracy."
This is both yet another illustration of your bigotry – not least because Christians per se would say no such thing.
And if you don't want to pay the licence fee – bin your television. It would allow you more time for prayer and [iBible[/i reading.
