| Me and a mate are thinking of going to Iraqi Kurdistan for a week in June but no there are no flights direct from the UK. The cheapest airline is Austrian Airways and that involves flying to Vienna and getting a connecting flight. We have two flight options, one takes about 7 hours including an hour stop in Vienna, the other takes about 17 hours including an 11 hour stop in Vienna. Obviously we don't really want to hang around Vienna airport for 11 hours but is an hour enough time to guarantee that we catch our connecting flight?
Also would you rather stay at quite a nice hotel that's a half an hour walk from the city centre (remembering that it gets up to 40°C in June) or would it be better to stay at a not so nice hotel that's bang in the city centre?

| Quote: Superbowl Scott "Yeah the Wynn was another £200, we only need the room to sleep and shower really. Yeah im reading that you'll either fall in love or you cant wait to leave.
You reckon £1500 for a week ? Im 24 so the nights will be spent in a bar, clubs etc. Want to do GC and Cirque du Soleil.'"
£1500 should be fine, it all depends how much you gamble (and how lucky you get on the tables), one thing I would do is try and get on guest lists for clubs, a lot of them have websites where you can put your name down (as soon as possible) and you might get a few freebies, then divide the cost of getting in up by the rest of you. When you eat go off the strip, you'll pay 50% more for having shiny lights etc.
If it's still on, go see Spamalot (watch the movies first though), should be easy enough to get checp tickets in advance. Don't leave anything until the last minute if you can avoid it, Vegas can be cheap as chips if planned in advance, but if you just buy on the day you'll pay a premium.

What an odd post.
Luxor is OK but pretty badly located. £1500 would be plenty for a week unless you want to start booking tables in clubs etc.

We went on Thanksgiving and a lot of places were closed, I was advising based on my experience, "badly located" may be according to your definition and your needs, I am sure SS can make his own decisions based on various sources of information.
Remember, you think Vegas is brilliant, I think it's , we obviously have different standards and requirements. Instead of having a dig at me (as is your usual) why not give SS some other useful advice,?

Where did I have a dig at you? Where was closed in Las Vegas over Thanksgiving?
SS asked for opinions on his choice of hotel, I responded in that in my opinion it is poorly located, what is so wrong about that? I am sure he can make his own decisions too, probably to ignore your advice
Was Friday a bad day for you?
