I realise the topic has moved on somewhat, but imo the crux of the issue isn't actually the midwifery staff - it's that cutbacks all over the shop means that women having terminations at the GG&C hospitals are being cared for in the maternity unit. If they didn't operate on the very minimum amount of staff then the midwifery staff wouldn't be asked to help out. If they didn't put women who'd had terminations (and miscarriages) onto normal maternity wards post operation because they've cut the other beds then not only would the staff not be making their current point, but the women involved might be treated better* as well.

*By better I mean they wouldn't be subject to something that I think is horrendous (putting them on a normal maternity ward) rather than their actual nursing care.

The BHA have been doing some sterling work of late. They also had a hand in the decision to ban the teaching of creationism in our schools.

But surely if Dorries's bill became law and more teenage girls abstained, that would only lead to an increase in male homosexual behaviour?

Amazingly a church funded study in the power of pray did show how it could harm.

What it found was that patients who were terminally ill showed no signs of improvement while being knowingly prayed for, but when told the praying had stopped they declined at a faster rate due to stress.

Where all scared of dying, some just have the sense to deal with it.

I can't change how I felt at the time, as I said there was desperation and confusion. I would defy anybody to tell me they would not feel the same emotions when faced with death leaving your wife to cope.
Nowhere in any of my posts on this topic have I tried to justify God.
