I've started training with Milford for the forthcoming Masters season (as well as Lost Loiners, Rawdon Rhinos and Wortley Dragons proper team-yes I know I'm a MACHINE!!) If any of you over 35's fancy a go at full contact (with certain restrictions) let me know. They are a good set of lads who train on a Thursday evening in Kirkstall. Like us they are a real mixed bunch of abilities and ages ranging from old (35) to really, really old (60 odd)

What's the rules for over 35s?

Over 35s is full contact, right up to 49 years. No more than two in tackle, no fends, no ball steals,rough or over vigorous play is not condoned. Dummy half can't run, kicking only allowed on last tackle.25 mins each way.

35-39 years , White shorts
40-49 years, black shorts
50-59 years, red shorts (tackler to physically stop and hold player, he may off load the ball if tackle not called.
60+ years, the tackle on attack is a touch tackle, when making a touch on an attacking opponent the defender must call tagged for the tackle to be given.on attack the defenders must remove a tag from the attacking player.

Season starts Saturday 14 May I believe.

I believe the first round games are at West Leeds on Sun 15th May. I'm hoping to play for East Leeds but information is a bit thin on the ground.

Anyone know anything ???

First tournament out of the way, next one is 12th June.

Also, Milford have changed from training on Thursdays to playing in the tag league at Abbey Fields (where Leeds Rhinos train) on a Tuesday evening instead.

Did you play for East Leeds? I played for Milford who teamed up with East Leeds to form a full side-very well we did too until the ref stopped the last match early!!
